What information do we collect about our patients and Individuals?
We collect information about our patients when a third party company (usually our customer or associate who may be the patient’s solicitor or medical legal representative) contact us to instruct Curian Medical to arrange Medical treatment or Diagnostics. The information collected is Personal Information such as names and date of birth, contact details and a brief medical history. We also collect information about individuals when they contact us through the website.
After your medical treatment, we may be provided with a discharge or summary report from the hospital or therapist you have seen.
Website usage information is collected using cookies.
How will we use information about our patients and individuals?
We collect information about our patients in order to provide or coordinate Medical Treatment or Diagnostics.
We use information from a third party (usually our customer or associate who may be the patient’s solicitor or medical legal representative) to coordinate or provide appointments and may pass your information on to hospitals or medical experts in order to process and deliver your appointment. Only information which is clinically necessary will be passed on. Due to the nature of the process (Curian Medical require personal data to accompany clinical recommendations to ensure patient safety and appropriateness of medical treatment) personal data is required to be held and shared by Curian Medical and we would not be able to provide our services without doing so.
We may pass on results of your assessment or appointment to your solicitor, insurer or medical representative if you are undergoing a personal injury or clinical negligence claim, to facilitate the progress of such claims.
We may use your data for reporting and analytics. This will only be shared internally or to update our customers (your solicitor, insurer or medical legal representative).
We may use your information collected from the website to personalise your repeat visits to our website.
Why we process patient’s personal data?
At Curian Medical we wouldn’t be able to provide our services without the processing of personal data, including some information which is classified as special categories of personal data (such as information concerning an individual’s health) and as a result of us doing so, our patients benefit. We process personal data in ways we believe our patients would expect, and we don’t use their information for any type of sales or marketing. How long do we keep your data?
The British Medical Association recommend retaining information for up to 8 years after treatment ends, in which Curian will conform to, if no objection is raised.
We will not use patient’s information for marketing purposes. We will only try to contact patients or individuals if your details have been referred to us in order for us to coordinate an appointment, or you have contacted Curian Medical directly.
You have a right at any time to request that we stop contacting you or giving your information to other parties. If you no longer wish to be contacted, please email us on [email protected] or call 0121 809 1010 and talk with one of our representatives.
We may collect contact details of relevant industry professionals for the purpose of marketing our services. If you have consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date. You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes.
Access to your information and correction

Right to Object
You have the right to object to how Curian Medical use your personal data. Please notify Curian Medical at the earliest opportunity if you object to us processing your data, you may be asked to put this in writing. Curian Medical will then consider your objection in a timely manner and respond at the earliest opportunity.
Curian Medical are committed to complying with its legislative responsibilities. All data breaches will be recorded and in the unlikely event that a breach occurs and may impact upon our patients’ rights or freedoms, we will notify the Information Commissioners office within 72 hours of becoming aware.
