First ever MRI scan performed in July 1978
Curian Medical not only celebrate our birthday in July, but the first ever MRI scan was done this month in 1978 by Sir Peter Mansfield. The scan of Sir Peter’s abdomen was the first MRI of organs within the body.
To date there are now some 360,000 scanners in operation worldwide and 100 million scans undertaken annually!
